Sweet Courageous Mehgan

Today was the funeral services for a dear childhood friend Meghan. I chose this picture of her for two reasons. One, being that she was courageous through her battle of cancer and endured and pushed. She didn't win this fight, but for a good reason. Her Father needed her home. Another reason I chose this was because this is how I remember her. She was so athletic and loved to play sports. She will be playing some of this up in heaven. Love you Meghan. Thank you for all the wonderful memories.

Aubrie's dance recital

Aubrie had a dance recital this month. The girls did a good job and it really was quite cute. She does a good job following instructions and is quite the gymnast. She had so much fun. Her cousin Adeline was dancing too! It is great to have friends and cousins so close around all the time. What a pretty girl!

Happy 3 to our dearest ANNA

Anna's birthday is on May 21st. This is such a special day because she shares it with my sweet mother who is no longer with us. She loved Anna dearly. She was able to spend some special time holding her when she was an infant. Even when she was sick she was able to just make her comfortable in her arms. We are grateful that she has been able to share this day with my mom. One day we will be able to tell her all of the stories about her grandma, but for now it is just a special day. This little one has been nothing but pure joy in our lives. Most would agree with me that she is the easiest kid on the face of this planet. I know this will probably bite me later on, but she is a dream. She is just happy to be alive. She reminds me that there is nothing more important than spending time with one another. Happy Birthday Anna, we love you!

Pinterest....the new fad......Do I hate or Love it?

                                                                   Homemade Slime
There is this new trend called Pinterest. It is a website that allows people to post anything they feel is neat. It has all kinds of subject matter. They have the best ideas for kids crafts, decorating, and recipes. I love this aspect of it. I hate that some people post the most bizarre and meaningless things. Sometimes I feel like some of the women need to get a life. Anyway, I definitely have a love hate relationship with it. Because of this amazing website, I have made my Halloween pumpkin into a sequin pumpkin, I have made homemade slime for the kids and some yummy desserts and dinners. There are some amazing artsy things that just make the wheels in my creative head turn for days on end.  Here is a picture of the latest dessert off Pinterest. Almond Joy Cheesecake Bites....MMMMMMMMMMMM.

A new chapter in our lives.....kind of

I have to say that ever since we left St. George to live here in California so much has happened. My mom passed away and we miss her everyday. Josh finished EMT, a fire academy, interviewed for some fire jobs, finished the didactic and clinical portion of paramedic school and graduated college. In the mean while, Gavin has been through 3 baseball seasons, 1 soccer season and a basketball season. Aubrie has been through one baseball season and will be starting kindergarten this year. It has been beyond crazy. Josh will be finishing up his internship portion of medic school. There have been some major changes in our lives and some coming up that have completely thrown us upside down....again. This time it is good....so stay tuned. Life is not what we planned....but there was a plan all along. We are grateful for the last couple years. I can honestly say that we have all grown so much. We have had to rely on the Lord more then ever and accept changes that were not planned. For now....I am still unsettled in Simi Valley, but don't plan to be here long. This year will be the biggest year of changes for our family yet.

Josh Graduation 2012

Josh Graduated in April with a BS degree in Public Emergency Management Services. He has accomplished a lot this year. It was a fun time.

A little trip to the farm

Getting ready to meet some friends at the local farm. It was a beautiful day and my kids were actually cooperating.

We picked some yummy over priced strawberries. We rode the tractor out to the strawberry fields.

Gavin's coach pitch season

Gavin had his best season yet this year. He was on the D-Backs. He did a phenomenal job hitting and fielding this year. He is so fun to watch. He had some great coaches that taught him some great techniques this year. He is aggressive and confident out there on the field. He was asked to play on a travel team this summer and represent Moorpark. He is just going to get better. This kid is one amazing athlete. He loved playing shortstop. That is his base. He does well at first as well. He made some great double plays and had some crazy hits. He is his happiest when he is playing on the field. We love him and his love for the game.

He loves to slide whether it is necessary or not. He always comes home dirty. His nice thick pants have started to tear at the knees. I was hoping to have these last through another season....not gonna happen.

We will always remember this season. Gavin made some great friends. Josh and I also enjoyed all the parent and kids on this team. It was a great year. We hope for more like it. Moorpark Little League is so great.

Aubrie's t-ball season

Aubrie played t-ball this last fall and loved it. She is one fast runner. It is hard to tell if baseball is in her near future or not. I decided to sign her up for soccer because of how fast she is. She was on the Angels.

On one particular game there was a boy playing first base on the other team. When Aubrie got to the base he told her that girls are not supposed to play baseball. It really upset her and she cried for the rest of the game. She still went out there and played though. She is tough. I felt bad for her. She soon forgot about this incident and played great the rest of the season. We love her and even though she is so tiny our there, she is so fun to watch out there.

She did pick up some grounders and made some good throws. We will see if she will want to play next season.
